The Greenup terminal handles all the major truck and trailer repairs for Midwest Transport, Inc. It also the home for other departments as well.
The terminal is the home base for Lowell Henderson, Maintenance Director for MTI. Lowell travels to the other terminals for MTI on a regular basis in order to ensure that the company policies and procedures are being followed at all locations. He also works with outside vendors on repairs and pricing for the company.
Bob Tucker is the terminal manager of the Greenup facility. In addition to overseeing the daily operations of the terminal, he also deals with the other terminals and supervisors in regards to what equipment needs to be shuttled back for repairs or what tractors need to be moved to a different tier. He also acts as a backup for Lowell in regards to outside repairs and discussing repair options with the other terminals. Here Bob is discussing repairs with Greg Russell.
The Safety Director for MTI, Larry Jansen. He travels to various locations to conduct driver safety meetings. Larry also works to maintain and improve safety in the work environment for all employees. With CSA 2010, Larry monitors both MTI’s and the driver’s individual standings and ratings. He works to train the drivers on how CSA2010 pertains to them and how it affects both the driver and MTI.
Jim Dollahan is the newest member of the MTI safety team. He conducts driver safety meetings at various locations. Jim assists terminal managers in the field with the hiring process for drivers. He also takes the new hires out for their road test and through the proper procedures for all paperwork they are required to do.
The shuttle department for MTI operates out of the Greenup terminal as well. Brad Biggs is the department supervisor and Brenda Tucker is the clerk for the shuttle department. There are 7 full time drivers and 4 part time drivers in the shuttle department. The drivers haul freight as they move equipment between Greenup and the other terminals. The shuttle department brings in equipment in from the field for repairs and routine maintenance. This department also places newer equipment in the field and places older equipment in another level of the tier system.
